Promoting a Positive Culture

MCPS is dedicated to promoting a positive culture in our schools, on our athletic teams and in our community. The following are some resources compiled for the numerous stakeholders committed to providing our students with a safe, positive environment to learn, grow and progress in.

On-line Athletic Registration

  • The portal is open for Spring sports registration. Please make sure you sign into the myMCPS Parent Portal and complete the spring sports registration as soon as possible, to ensure your student athlete is ready for spring sport tryouts. Parents/guardians needing additional support with registration can download step by step instructions on how to register your student-athlete for a spring sport. 

Upcoming Events 

  • The Regional Diving Meets take place Thursday & Friday, February 14 & 15, at the Kennedy Shriver Aquatics Center. Come cheer on our student-athletes as they dive into competition, starting at 3:00 pm!
  • Regional Swim Meets take place Saturday, February 19, 2019. The 4A/3A West region will compete at the Martin Luther King Swim Center, starting at 8 am. The 4A/3A North region will compete at the PG Sports & Learning Complex, starting at 9 am. The 3A/2A/1A West region will compete at the Fairland Aquatic Center, starting at 3:00 pm. Best of luck to all our swimmers!!
  • The MCPS Championship Wrestling Tournament will take place this Friday and Saturday, February 15 & 16th at Gaithersburg High School. For more information check out our Wrestling Fan Focus.
  • Winter sports are coming down the home stretch and competition is heating up. Be sure to visit for specific sports, locations and times. Best of luck to all our student-athletes!!

Check out "Sports Insight" on MCPSTV, a web and TV series about the MCPS high school and middle school athletics program.The monthly program provides a behind the scenes look at MCPS athletics, while highlighting student-athletes, teachers, coaches and support staff, covering a variety of topics like sportsmanship and community involvement.
