April is Math Awareness
Month! Mathematicians represent their math understanding using models;
therefore, this year’s theme is Math Models! We visualize, simplify, and
make sense of mathematics through models. Throughout the month we will focus on
how we use math models to ‘see the math’.

for our current kindergarten students. If you know of any families in the
community that have a child that will be kindergarten age next year, have them
call Ms. Davies in the school office (301-353-8500) to set up a

September we recognized Bullfrogs who earned LEAP and SEL awards, as well as
Bullfrog Breakfast. Click on the link below to see a list of award

work of our students!
We are excited to have students read with family and friends while
raising money to support GSCES. Our theme this year is “Reading is a
Window to the World.” We are excited to read many books about history and books
about different cultures! Check out the video we made, inspired by one of our 4th graders - Read
Students should not be arriving to school before 8:25. Breakfast is offered from 8:25 – 8:55. Doors open for students not eating breakfast at 8:40. There is no supervision for students outside when they arrive prior to 8:25. Thank you for your cooperation.
All volunteers must be trained on Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect prior to volunteering and/or chaperoning for field trips at Great Seneca Creek Elementary School according to MCPS regulations! Log onto the www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/childabuseandneglect/ and bring a printed copy or email the confirmation to Mrs. Beth Wert, school counselor.
If you have gently used children's books (picture and chapter) you would like to donate to students who may not have access to reading materials, please box/bag them up and bring them into the Great Seneca Creek Library anytime. Our media specialist and reading specialist will help make sure the books are matched appropriately with children who may need them.
